What a glorious 1940s swing dress! These are getting harder and harder to find and to find a jewel like this one is just wonderful and on top of that it is by the talented Jo Copeland for Pattulo! The fabric is a printed silk crepe that drapes wonderfully when on. It has that touch of thirties influence still with a slightly wider cut through the bodice and looser drape and pleating which makes it very flattering. The skirt is long and lean with a bit of volume as it nears the hem for that perfect swing cut. Really beautiful and very well done. The printed design is spectacular it is a bright watercolor scenic print in vibrant colors. Over the shoulders is a draped panel that has been highlighted with hand sewn sequins. Each shoulder has light padding and this and the caped fabric panel create a beautiful silhouette. I love how the belt slips through that little loop at the waist and that loop is also decorated with sequins. This dress is everything you want in a 1940s piece and is a real jaw dropper. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper. The belt is original to the dress.
